Sometimes when i went over to Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple at Bugis, i will seek out vegetarian restaurants around the area. One of my favourite vegetarian hideout is at Fortune Centre, this place has many vegetarian options, from 1st floor all the way to 4th floor.
There is this particular store at 3rd floor, at first when i saw this restaurant for the first time, my impression was that the menu seem a little too little so i walk away and head for another restaurant. Then my second visit to this vegetarian restaurant, i stare long and hard at the menu as there are quite a bit to read through and then i begin to understand and regret my initial shun and realize i had totally underestimate this restaurant so i decided to give it a try.
As i walk in, i was greeted by a very friendly staff, she was all smiles, i briefly mentioned i was new and ask if there is any recommendation, she proceed to explain the three soups available that day and what are their benefits to health respectively. Then i think i have weak blood flow since young and i know that my liver and heart needs more strengthening as i have been sleeping late for the past 1 year so i had picked my choice.
The soup i had order is 何首舟参桂圆汤 ($6.80), chim right the chinese? No worries, their menu have numbering so you can refer to no.8 of the menu.
Each soup comes with special nourishing factors, for the soup i ordered, it support the body in the following ways (benefits both ladies and guys):
- Strengthen blood flow
- Strengthen your heart (especially ppl who have cardiovascular diseases)
- Strengthen liver
- Help those who are suffering irregular sleep pattern
- Help those who are suffering from irregular period
- Those who fell ill easily
Along with the soup, comes with a choice of either plain rice, brown rice or handmade noodles. Either which they will top up with sliced mushrooms which taste very juicy and tasty👍👍👍 Their handmade noodles are especially nice i must say🤤
They also have vegetarian rojak which i miss out as i was already full after consuming the main meal but is also highly recommended as i saw most of the customers order their vegetarian rojak.
Their soups will change everyday or a few days but one of the staff mentioned there will be a few soups that will be standard available through, so please don't hesitate to ask the staff about the soups and please treat them kindly as this is a really precious vegetarian gem in Singapore.
I will personally give a very high rating and strongly recommend to all vegetarians or those curious to try out, the only downside is the lack of space so try to find non-peak period like the usual lunch crowd so that you can get a seat. They also close early in the evening so if you are into early dinner, head on down to try out, i will input the operation times below for your reference. Another advice is try to dine-in instead of takeaway because the soups is best serve on the spot.
